Digital Desk, Busted. Ajinkya Rahane, who played an important role in the Indian Test team for a long time, recently announced his retirement from all formats of cricket. Especially on foreign tours, Rahane's batting against difficult pitches and fast bowlers was considered a major strength of the team. Rahane told in a conversation that after announcing his retirement, he first got a call from the great batsman Sachin Tendulkar. Talking about Rahane's decision, Sachin said that he was hopeful that he would play more matches for India. Rahane told that he told Sachin that he was saying goodbye to cricket without any regrets and did not want to prolong his career longer than necessary.
According to Rahane, apart from Sachin, Irfan Pathan also spoke to him on phone. Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah messaged him and appreciated his career and contribution.
Announcing retirement was not easy for Rahane also. He told that after recording his retirement video, he became very emotional and tears came out of his eyes. He was emotional even while discussing this decision with his family, but while making the video he had no idea that his emotions would come out like this.
Rahane said that at that time, for the first time, he felt deeply that he would not be able to play the game again as a player, which he had loved for so many years. However, despite these feelings, he says that he has taken this decision after careful consideration and he has no regrets about his retirement.
