New Delhi: Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has confirmed the dates of the three-match T20 International series against India in New Delhi. In a statement, ACB said that these matches will be played on 13, 15 and 17 September at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The board also made it clear that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also given its consent to these dates.
India’s Afghanistan tour will start from September 13
According to the letter available with Cricbuzz, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) CEO Naseeb Khan has written to his business associates that India’s Afghanistan tour 2026 will be held between September 13 and September 17. He has confirmed that these dates have also been agreed to by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the venues for these matches have also been decided. Let us tell you that earlier in June, the only Test match was played between India and Afghanistan in Mullanpur and after this a three-match ODI series was played.
India’s tour of Bangladesh may be canceled
With this decision of Afghanistan Cricket Board, it now seems that Team India’s tour of Bangladesh is now looking almost impossible. Actually, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wanted to hold 6 matches from 1st to 13th September, but one match of Afghanistan series is falling between this time. Now only three weeks are left for the matches, so unless a sudden major decision is taken by the government, this tour should be considered cancelled.
Afghanistan board wrote letter to BCCI
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) further said that although the official announcement of this series is yet to be made by the authorities, but the board is sending this letter to give definite information about the dates and stadium of ‘India’s Afghanistan Tour 2026’. With this, the companies having telecast and media rights of the matches can now start planning their further preparations, broadcasting arrangements, promotions and everything else keeping this schedule in mind.
