Shribhoomi: August 10: Preparations have been started by Dulabhchhada Dashbhuja Sangh for Shardiya Durga Utsav. This year the public Durga Puja organized by the Sangh is entering its ninth year. Many special preparations are being made to make the puja grand and attractive. Regarding the successful organization of the upcoming Durga Utsav, a meeting was organized on August 1, 2026 in the office of the business establishment of Mithun Sharma Choudhary, owner of Anandamoyee Drug Distributor. In the meeting, a new 51-member organizing committee was unanimously formed to conduct the puja.
The meeting started by observing one minute silence in the memory of late Chandan Pal, a senior and dedicated member of the Sangh. The members expressed deep grief over his demise and paid tribute. In the meeting, Ramakrishnanagar assembly constituency MLA Vijay Malakar was chosen as the convenor of the puja committee. Many dignitaries of the area including Dulabhchhada Zilla Parishad member and Dashbhuja Sangh well-wisher Pranab Mukherjee, Cheragi Zilla Parishad member Pankaj Raisharma, Lalchhada GP President Sanjay Goswami and Bhetarband GP AP member Supta De have been included in the advisory board. Puja committee president Shankar Das, secretary Karthik Rai and treasurer Dipan Dev have been elected. Other members of Dashbhuja Sangh have been assigned various responsibilities as executive members.
The pandal will be 80 feet high. This year the main attraction of the puja will be a grand pandal about 80 feet high and 70 feet long. A special presentation of nine forms of Goddess Durga will be made in the front of the pandal. Apart from this, the statues of Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maa Sharda Devi will also be the center of attraction for the devotees. The statues of Sadhak Bamakhepa and Ramprasad Sen will also be specially presented.
The responsibility of pandal construction and decorative lighting has been given to Mahadev Decorator based in Dharmanagar, Tripura. The work of making the statue will be done by the famous statue sculpture of Shribhoomi district. Apart from this, special electrical decoration will be done by Vikram Light of Katlichhada from in front of Durlabhchhada Ghosh Sweet Store to in front of Durlabhchhada Hare Krishna MV School. During the puja, a group of famous Dhak players coming from Agartala will also enliven the festive atmosphere with the beats of traditional Dhak.
Khuti Puja will be held on 15th August. Durga Puja will be organized this year in the grounds of Hare Krishna Madhyambang Vidyalaya located on Dulabhchhada Hospital Road. The auspicious Khuti puja and inauguration program of the puja will be organized on 15 August 2026. On behalf of Dashbhuja Sangh, an appeal has been made to people of all sections of the area, well-wishers, businessmen, social workers and religion-loving public for cooperation in organizing the puja. The committee members expressed hope that with everyone's cooperation, affection and blessings, this year's Durga Utsav will conclude as a peaceful, well-organized and grand autumn festival.
