New Delhi/Gaul: The excitement of the two test match series between India and Sri Lanka is about to begin. The first match of the series will be played in Galle from 15th August. Just before the match, Sri Lanka has announced its team for the first test. In this squad that emerged after a long wait, Dhananjay de Silva has been made the captain and Kamindu Mendis has been made the vice-captain. At present, Sri Lanka has announced the team only for the first Test.

Sri Lanka has released the squad for the first match of the two-Test series against India. Availability of players and injury-related circumstances were believed to be the reasons behind the delay in the team's announcement.
The captaincy of the team has been given to Dhananjay de Silva, while Kamindu Mendis will be the vice-captain. Along with experienced players, there are many names in the Sri Lankan squad on whom the team will be expected to perform strongly in home conditions.

Spin bowling always plays an important role in ball conditions. In such a situation, Prabhat Jayasuriya is one of the main weapons of the Sri Lankan team. Dealing with his spin can be a big challenge for the Indian batsmen.
For India also, the batting combination is going to be very important according to the pitch and conditions of Galle.

India had already announced its squad for the Test series. After this changes were made in the team. Jasprit Bumrah and Sai Sudarshan have been ruled out of the series, while Auqib Nabi and Sarfaraz Khan have been given a chance in their place.
This is a special opportunity for Auqib Nabi. The fast bowler from Jammu and Kashmir has been included in the Indian team for the first time in place of Bumrah.
