Narendra Modi Red Fort Speech: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the nation from the Red Fort on the occasion of Independence Day, gave a strong message regarding Naxalism and Maoism. He said that the country has achieved great success against armed Naxalites in the forests, but now a new challenge is in front. Calling them ‘mindless Naxals’, the Prime Minister said that it is necessary to identify and isolate such people.
PM Modi said that for a long time, people with Maoist thinking maintained their place in the corridors of power, and claimed that such thinking influenced policies even as advisors in government committees. The Prime Minister said that different efforts are being made to take the society in the wrong direction.
Emphasizing on connecting the youth with the mainstream of the country’s development, he said that it is everyone’s responsibility to make a safe India. He said that whether the challenge is within or outside the country’s borders, India is ready for every situation.
Destroyed the future of millions of youth
Describing Naxalism and Maoism as a decades-old challenge, the Prime Minister said that it affected the future of millions of youth and broke the dreams of many families. According to him, for almost four decades a large part of the country’s population remained under the pressure of violence and guns.
PM Modi said that more than 3500 security forces personnel were martyred in the fight against Naxalite violence, adding that Naxalism had caused massive violence and destruction in many parts of the country.
Had taken the resolution of Naxalism free India in 2014 itself
PM Modi said that in 2014, as soon as the government got the opportunity, it was resolved to free the country from Naxalism. He said that today Naxalite-Maoist violence has weakened and now it does not even have the strength left to take its last breath.
The Prime Minister said that in the areas where there was once an atmosphere of violence, today the tricolor of development, trust and efforts is flying there. However, he also warned that this challenge should not be underestimated under any circumstances.
