Tezzbuzz Desk– Royal Enfield has launched the updated version of its popular cafe racer bike Continental GT 650 in India. This time the company has made some small but useful changes in the look and features of the bike, while its engine and mechanical setup has been kept the same as before. The starting ex-showroom price of the new Continental GT 650 is Rs 3.58 lakh, while the price of its top variant goes up to Rs 3.88 lakh.
The new Continental GT 650 will be available in four different color options. The price of Rocker Red and British Racing Green variants has been kept at Rs 3.58 lakh. The Apex Gray variant will be available for Rs 3.81 lakh, while Mr Clean is the most expensive model which is priced at Rs 3.88 lakh. There are differences in engine finish, wheel design and color in different variants. In this update, the company has paid maximum attention to rider comfort and premium feel. The bike now has LED indicators, black finished instrument cluster cover and USB Type-C fast charging port. This feature will prove to be very helpful in charging smartphones or other devices during long distance riding. Apart from this, the Rocker Red variant now has a black engine, black exhaust and cast-alloy wheels, which were earlier available only in the Apex Gray model.
Although changes have been made in the styling, the bike's signature café racer design has been retained. The Continental GT 650 still comes with a low-slung handlebar, sporty riding position and classic tank design. This is the reason why this bike remains a special favorite among those riders who like the mix of retro look and modern technology. Talking about the engine, it has the same 648cc air and oil-cooled parallel-twin cylinder engine as before. This engine generates maximum power of 47 horsepower and torque of 52.3Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, which is known for smooth shifting and long distance riding. The company has not made any mechanical changes to the engine, as this unit is already counted among Royal Enfield's most reliable and popular powertrains.
