Yamaha's new R2: Leading power bike manufacturing company Yamaha has started pre-booking of its upcoming R2 supersport motorcycle. Customers can book it by paying Rs 10,000. Talking about launching, the company is going to launch this bike in India on 27th August.

Booking amount fully refundable
Those making pre-booking will be given preference during delivery. Meanwhile the booking amount is fully refundable. However, its refund will be processed only after September 5. This bike will be produced in India only and from here it will be exported to the markets of other countries also.
Yamaha R2 will be different from R15
The Yamaha R2 will be positioned above the company's existing R15. However, it will not replace the R15. The bike is also expected to have sporty riding and lightweight handling like the R15.

R2 is likely to get a high-revving single-cylinder engine. The company has not yet disclosed the engine and power output. According to Autocar, it can be provided with an engine of around 200-220cc. In terms of performance, it will compete with bikes like KTM RC 200 and Hero Karizma XMR, whose output is around 25hp. In such a situation, Yamaha R2 is also expected to get almost the same level of power.

price
Currently the price of R15 ranges from Rs 1.57 lakh to Rs 1.98 lakh. In such a situation, the starting price of Yamaha R2 is expected to be around Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.2 lakh. However, information about price, engine specifications and features will be revealed only at the time of launch.
