Bengaluru: A shocking incident has come to light in Bengaluru where a civil engineer allegedly killed his software engineer wife after a heated argument and later died by suicide. The couple has been identified as Sumant Jain, a civil engineer, and his wife Padmavati, a software engineer.
According to preliminary information, the couple had an argument on Wednesday night, which later turned violent. Police suspect that during the fight, Sumant allegedly assaulted Padmavati and strangled her with a pillow.
After the incident, Sumant reportedly tried to wake his wife but realized that she was no longer breathing. In a panic, he called his mother and informed her about the incident through a message.
Husband Found Hanging Inside House
After receiving the message, Sumant's mother immediately contacted the landlord. When the house was opened, Sumant was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the hall, while Padmavati was found dead inside the house.
The Rajagopal Nagar Police reached the spot after receiving information and have registered a case. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact sequence of events and the actual cause of Padmavati's death.
Police are examining all available evidence to understand what led to the tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of both husband and wife.
