Prime Minister Modi did not call opposition leaders 'mindful Naxalites': Kiren Rijiju!

Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has given clarification amid the controversy over 'brainy Naxalite'. Kiren Rijiju has clarified that the Prime Minister has not called the opposition leaders 'mindless Naxalites'.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not call opposition leaders 'brainless Naxalites'. 'Brainless Naxalites' are just those who support Maoists and do not believe in the Indian Constitution, stand with separatists and support Article 370 and want to cut the 'chicken neck' to separate the North-East from India,” the Union minister wrote on Twitter.

In fact, the Prime Minister had said in his address to the nation on Independence Day, “Naxalism and Maoism have ruined the future of millions of youth, snatched away their youth from many mothers, ruined them and shattered the dreams of parents.

Naxalism had held a large part of India, a large population, at gunpoint for four decades and had torn the Constitution to pieces and more than 3500 police security forces were martyred in protecting the common citizens of the country.

PM Modi had further said, “When you gave us an opportunity in 2014, on the same day we had resolved that we would free the country from Naxalism and today I am happy that even the last breath of Naxalite-Maoist violence has no strength.

The armed Naxalites are gone, but the mental Naxalites are looking for an opportunity, they are looking for ways of violence and anarchy. These mindless Naxals have to be identified who are playing various tricks to drag the society on the wrong path.”

After this statement of Prime Minister Modi, opposition leaders have started calling themselves 'brainy Naxals'. Congress leader P. Chidambaram wrote on the social media platform 'X' on Sunday, “I am proud to be a 'brainy Naxal'.”

On the Prime Minister's statement, Jairam Ramesh wrote on

Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinet said in the 'X' post, “You are calling the youth of the country 'mindless Naxals' just because they question you? In a boring 75-minute speech, one was seen to be a defeated, tired man who has no idea of the ground reality. It was good to call Pandit Nehru a great man.”
