Actor Suniel Shetty marked Naga Panchami by revisiting memories of his childhood in Mulki, Mangalore, and reflecting on the festival's place in his family traditions.
The 'Dhadkan' actor shared a video on Instagram showing him performing the Naga Panchami pooja and said the occasion always takes him back to his roots.
“Naga Panchami always takes me back home. Growing up in Mulki, Mangalore, Naga Dev has always been a part of our family and our traditions. For me, it is not just a festival but a reminder of the faith, values and connection to our roots that we carry with us,” Suniel wrote.
He added, “On this Naga Panchami, seeking the blessings of Naga Dev for peace strength and protection.”
Naga Panchami is observed by devotees who worship serpent deities, seeking blessings for protection from snakebites, family well-being, prosperity and spiritual strength. Rituals associated with the festival include bathing serpent idols or images with milk and water and offering turmeric, roli, rice grains, puffed rice, flowers and milk-based prasad such as payasam.
On the work front, Suniel was last seen in the comedy film 'Welcome to the Jungle', alongside Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez.
He is set to reprise his popular character Shyam in the next installment of the 'Hera Pheri' franchise. The project is currently under production and will reunite him with Akshay Kumar.
Suniel also has an untitled action thriller with Tiger Shroff in the pipeline. The film is being directed by Sachin Ravi.
