Next-Generation Scorpio-N Rendered In The Style Of Lifestyler

Mahindra has revealed the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup truck in India. It has an attractive design and large dimensions. There are clear visual differentiation from the Scorpio-N. The Scorpio-N has been a very successful model in our market and recently got a mild facelift. The Lifestyler’s design previews what the Scorpio-N’s styling could possibly evolve into. With this assumption as the base, we have imagined the next-generation Scorpio-N.

The overall silhouette and stance are similar to those of the facelifted Scorpio-N. Let’s start from the front. The grille section is large and resembles that of the Lifestyler. We have also added the Orange-coloured trims seen on the truck to the Scorpio-N. The tow hooks at the front are also finished in Orange. The leading edge of the bonnet has ‘Scorpio’ written on it.

The front bumper has a large, Lifestyler-like air dam with square-shaped elements. The front fog lamps are ice-cube shaped, two on either side, stacked vertically. The LED headlamps have a Lifestyler-like design.

In the side view, we can see sharp lines and an upright stance. The belt line and window line stand close to those of the current Scorpio-N. You can also see a thick black body cladding and an integrated footstep. The wheel arch claddings are also finished like those of the Lifestyler. The SUV also has thick Black roof rails and a shark-fin antenna. There is also a Black front fender ornament on either side.

Now let’s look at the rear. This might seem like a radical change from the Scorpio-N that you and I are familiar with. The rear glass area is large and the tailgate design has changed. The LED tail lamps get a vertical orientation and look like the ones of the pickup truck. The rear bumper has Silver inserts, reflectors and integrated Orange-coloured tow hooks. We can also see a ‘Scorpio-N’ badge and Mahindra’s ‘Twin peaks’ logo on the tailgate. Even at the rear, you will find a close resemblance to the Lifestyler’s styling.

The recent facelift gave the Scorpio-N even more features than before. It now comes with features like 540-degree camera, a new 12.29-inch floating HD touchscreen with physical buttons for easy navigation. You also get a 65W USB Type-C fast-charging port in for.

The carmaker has also integrated Adventure Statistics feature into the central screen. The SUV also comes with a 10.24-inch fully digital driver display and a panoramic sunroof. Other features include level 2 ADAS, a 12-speaker audio, ventilated seats, 6-way powered driver’s seat, an auto-dimming IRVM, an electronic parking brake and more.

Things are expected to improve significantly on the next-generation Scorpio-N. It will likely get a large portrait-style central screen, just like the Lifestyler. The exact size of this display remains undisclosed, but it will have wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The next-generation SUV will also come with more connected car and software-driven features.

It will continue to have features like dual-zone climate control and ventilated seats. The steering wheel design is also set to evolve on the new model. The overall design and material quality will also improve. It will likely get a new cabin colour scheme as well.

These renderings are based on pure imagination and are therefore, not official. We have just tried to show you one of the many directions that Mahindra could possibly take with the design of next-generation Scorpio-N.

The engine and transmission options are likely to remain the same on the next-generation Scorpio-N. It will likely continue with the same 2.2L turbocharged diesel and 2.0L turbo-petrol. These are both proven powertrains and will come with the option of both manual and automatic transmissions. The next-generation SUV will also come with two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive (4WD) configurations.

Given the immense acceptance of the Scorpio-N in India, its next generation will have to be designed and packaged carefully, so that it doesn’t disappoint fans and future owners. Being a company that listens carefully to customer demands (and feedback), we are sure that Mahindra will do exactly the same.
