Mumbai: Actress Roopa Dutta has received significant relief in the theft case of Rs 1.48 lakh in Colaba, Mumbai. The Metropolitan Magistrate Court has granted him bail on a personal bond of Rs 50,000. The court has also imposed some conditions, in which Roopa has been directed not to tamper with the evidence related to the case and not to leave the country without the permission of the court.

This matter pertains to the complaint of Dimple Singhvi, a resident of Marine Drive. According to the complaint, on July 12, 2026, she was going from Babulnath Temple to Colaba, when her purse was stolen. The purse contained valuables, which included a diamond studded gold bracelet worth Rs 1.20 lakh, Rs 10,000 in cash and Apple AirPods worth Rs 15,000. The total value of the stolen property is said to be Rs 1.48 lakh.

Police investigation and arrest

Police started investigating the case and made Roopa Dutta an accused with the help of CCTV footage. In the footage he was seen chasing the complainant. Police claimed that some stolen property was also recovered from them. However, the court has not yet given a final verdict on the charges.
