A very serious and shocking case has come to light from Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. According to the police, a 16-year-old minor was allegedly raped by her father for a long time. It is alleged that after the minor became pregnant, she was forced to have an abortion and when she became pregnant for the second time, she was admitted to the hospital with the help of fake documents, claiming that she was an adult and married.
According to the police, so far 8 people have been arrested in this case, including the minor's father, her aunt, people associated with the hospital and the person who allegedly bought the newborn. Investigation of the matter is ongoing.
What is the whole matter? Know what the police told
- According to the police, the victim is the eldest of three sisters. When her mother separated from her husband, all three daughters started living with their father. It is alleged that during this time in the year 2023, the minor was raped for the first time by her father.
- The incident took place at a relative's house in New Rajendra Nagar police station area. The father threatened to kill the daughter if she told anyone about the incident. Due to this fear she remained silent for a long time.
- Police say that even after this the alleged sexual exploitation continued and the minor became pregnant. When the minor came to know about her pregnancy, she informed her aunt about it. According to the police, the aunt told this to her father.
- It is alleged that after this the father beat up the minor and got abortion medicines through his aunt. After consuming these medicines she miscarried. But it is alleged that even after this the exploitation of the minor did not stop. In the year 2025, the minor became pregnant again. After this his father took him to a nurse's home. Investigation revealed that the nurse has been identified as Varsha Mandal. Varsha sent the minor to the house of another nurse of her acquaintance, Geeta Rai. The minor stayed there for about two months. After this, a complete plan was allegedly made to hide his age.
- Geeta Rai hid the real age of the minor and described him as an adult and married in the documents. For this, allegedly fake documents were prepared, which also included fake Aadhaar card. On the basis of these documents, the minor was admitted to a private hospital in Dangania area of Raipur. According to the police, the minor there gave birth to a son through surgery.
- The most serious aspect of the matter is related to the newborn child. According to the police, it is alleged that after the child was born, he was sold to another person. In this entire process, along with the father of the minor, some people associated with the hospital and other accused were also involved. The police has also arrested the person who allegedly bought the newborn.
- After delivery, the minor was kept at Geeta Rai's house for about 15 days. After this his father took him back to his home. Amidst this entire incident, the minor somehow got in touch with her mother through social media. He told his mother the entire incident that happened to him. After this, her mother reached the police station with her daughter on Monday and lodged a complaint.
- After receiving the complaint, the police registered a case at New Rajendra Nagar police station and started investigation. During the investigation, the role of many people came to light, after which eight accused have been arrested so far.
- According to the police, a case has been registered against the accused under several sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) including provisions related to rape, forgery, criminal intimidation, causing hurt, causing or preventing abortion. Apart from this, sections of POCSO Act and Juvenile Justice Act have also been imposed in cases related to minors.
- Apart from the minor's father and his aunt, the arrested accused include Rohit Kumar Rai (35), his wife Yogita Rai alias Geeta (32), Saheb Mandal (42), his wife Varsha Mandal (34), a man who allegedly bought the newborn and another woman.
Police have said that the investigation of the case is still going on. The role of other people involved in this entire incident is also being investigated.
