Shribhoomi: Senior advocate Hafiz Rashid Choudhary has alleged that the statement given by BJP booth president Bikash Dhar after the murder of him in Chagalmoa area of Bazarichhra in Assam's Shribhoomi district was allegedly distorted by the Shribhoomi district BJP. He said that by presenting his statement in the wrong context, an attempt is being made to create confusion in the society and affect peace and social harmony. Hafiz Rashid Chaudhary said that he had given his statement in Bengali language and the basic purpose of his statement was not to comment against any community or class, but to appeal for maintaining peace, harmony and law and order in the area.
He said that as a law student, he had appealed to all sections of people to exercise restraint and have faith in the law. He said, “I never made any provocative or provocative statement. I had appealed to maintain peace and harmony in the society and take necessary steps from the administration.” Questions raised on the alleged statement of the minister. Referring to the alleged statement of Minister Krishnendu Pal, senior advocate Chaudhary said that any responsible public representative should avoid addressing any person as 'Bangladeshi' or 'foreigner' in front of the media.
He said that determination of a person's citizenship or foreign national status is a matter for the procedure of the competent authority under law. Chaudhary claimed that he has given a written complaint to the Governor regarding this issue and demanded the removal of Minister Krishnendu Pal from the post. He also claimed that a complaint FIR has been lodged before the Director General of Police (DGP) seeking legal action against the minister's alleged statement.
“I will take legal action against those who distort the statement”
Responding to the alleged interpretation of his statement by the district BJP, Chaudhary said, “I did not make any unjust or provocative statement. Then why are attempts being made to create confusion and unrest in the society by distorting my statement?” He said that if efforts to create social tension by misrepresenting his statement continued, action would be taken against the people concerned under the law. Chaudhary also objected to the alleged comments of Karimganj Zilla Parishad Chairman Anil Kumar Tripathi. He said that his Bengali statement was commented on without understanding it in its correct context. He said that in a democratic system everyone has the right to criticize, but it is not appropriate to create social tension by distorting someone's peaceful and constructive statement.
