New Delhi:Amidst the ongoing nefarious conspiracies from across the border, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has intensified investigation into the case of sophisticated weapons sent through drones in Amritsar, Punjab. The wires of this entire network are visible from India to Pakistan and Australia. Preliminary investigation has indicated that this consignment of weapons was delivered with the aim of challenging the security of the country and carrying out some major destructive incident in Punjab. After this revelation, the security agencies have become alert. At present, the main focus of the investigation is to find out to which gang or organization this huge consignment of weapons was ultimately to be delivered.
The truth about the nexus of gangsters and ISI
Now the NIA, which is investigating this entire episode in depth, is busy unraveling the network of drone suppliers, foreign masters and local contacts.
Central agencies suspect that this syndicate smuggling arms and drugs from across the border may have nexus with local gangsters as well as separatist elements.
Items of destruction dropped by drone
Investigation revealed that this entire consignment was dropped through drone near the India-Pakistan border on the intervening night of 16th and 17th June. Accused Rohan Khosla had to pick up the goods from the hideout and deliver it further, but he got caught in the net of the security forces. During interrogation, he revealed that he was in direct contact with a handler sitting in Australia, who had given accurate information about the location of the weapons through social media. Police suspect that this suspect present in Australia is working directly on the instructions of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. The accused has confessed to making several deliveries of weapons earlier also.
Nefarious intention foiled due to promptness of BSF
The case began in mid-June, when the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police conducted a joint cordon based on a specific tip-off. During this action taken on June 19 in Ajnala-Ramdas area of Amritsar, 22 year old accused Rohan Khosla was arrested. During the search, a total of 26 weapons including one AK-47 rifle and 25 foreign pistols were recovered from his car. These included 14 9 mm and 11 .30 bore pistols. Along with the weapons, 368 cartridges, 48 magazines and an American-made bulletproof jacket were also found, which were confiscated.
