There is a big movement in the prices of gold and silver in the Indian bullion market at the beginning of the week. According to Bullion.co.in, the latest rates of gold and silver have been released on August 24, 2026 at around 6:20 am.
In the morning trading session, the price of 24 carat gold was recorded at Rs 1,62,810 per 10 grams. At the same time, the price of 22 carat gold has reached Rs 1,49,243 per 10 grams. On the other hand, if we talk about silver, the rate of 999 fine silver has been recorded at the level of Rs 2,47,540 per kg. For some time now, there has been a continuous rise in the prices of precious metals, which is having a direct impact on the pockets of those buying new gold and silver.
How much did the price increase in a week and a year?
If we look at the returns given by precious metals, in the last one week alone the price of 24 carat gold has increased by more than 4%. If we look at the figures of the last one year, there has been a strong increase of about 62% in the price of gold.
Similarly, investors have got huge profits in silver also. The price of 999 fine silver has increased by 3.53% in the last one week. Whereas during the last one year, a huge jump of about 112% has been seen in the price of silver. Apart from this, the rate of second category of silver i.e. 925 Sterling Silver has been recorded at Rs 2,28,975 per kg today.

There is a slight difference in the prices of gold in different major cities of the country. Today the most expensive gold in the country is being sold in Chennai, while the cheapest gold is recorded in Delhi.

Like gold, the prices of silver also vary depending on the city. Today the rate of silver is highest in Chennai, whereas in Delhi it is available at comparatively lowest price.
