Lucknow. In the 19th match of UP T20 League 2026, Meerut Mavericks defeated Kanpur Superstars by 19 runs and registered their seventh consecutive win. On Tuesday, the match played at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium was reduced to 5 overs each due to heavy rain. Batting first, Meerut scored 96/3 runs in 5 overs, in reply Kanpur team could score only 77/3 runs.
This match was also very special for veteran leg spinner Karn Sharma. He played his last competitive cricket match. While entering the field, the players gave him a guard of honour, while UP T20 League Governing Council Chairman Dr. Sanjay Kapoor honored him with a special memento.
Rinku Singh scored 30 runs in 10 balls
Kanpur Superstars captain Sameer Rizvi won the toss and chose to bowl first. In this short match affected by rain, Meerut's batsmen adopted an aggressive style from the beginning.

However, Meerut bowler Zeeshan Ansari put brakes on Kanpur's pace. He took 3 wickets for 12 runs in 2 overs. Due to his brilliant spell, Kanpur team could reach only 77/3 runs in 5 overs. Zeeshan was named player of the match for his performance.
Karan Sharma's emotional farewell became a special moment of the match
The result of the match was in favor of Meerut, but the most emotional moment for the cricket fans was the departure of Karn Sharma. In the last match of his long competitive career, he not only took the field as a part of the team, but also made his farewell memorable by taking the wicket of Rinku Singh.
