Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has acknowledged that the club is looking to add more options on the wings as it continues to work on reinforcements before the transfer window closes.
The Reds have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, with negotiations reportedly progressing over a deal that could be worth as much as 120 million Pounds.
Liverpool have also been associated with Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh and Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr as they look to strengthen an area of the squad weakened by Mohamed Salah’s departure.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s home game against Nottingham Forest, Iraola said the need to add numbers in wide positions was obvious, although he refused to discuss players who remain contracted to other clubs.
“We cannot talk about players that right now are not ours, but it is evident that we are trying to improve or try to fill that position because we don’t have the numbers,” Iraola said.
“I hope we have good news soon but we are still not there.”

Should Barcola arrive, it could have an impact on Cody Gakpo’s future at Anfield. The Dutch forward, who scored in Iraola’s first game in charge during a 2-2 draw away to Newcastle, has been linked with both Manchester City and Tottenham.
Iraola said uncertainty was unavoidable while the market remained open and stopped short of guaranteeing that any current player would stay.
Liverpool’s only new signing to start against Newcastle was centre-back Jeremy Jacquet, whose move had been agreed in January, while Ronald Araujo and Victor Munoz were introduced from the bench.
Iraola said he is eager to get beyond the transfer deadline so he can work with a settled squad and have clarity over the options available to him.
He added that the club already knows the type of players it wants to bring in, but stressed that transfer plans can change quickly if an unexpected opportunity emerges late in the window.
