Jhakhand News: The government has taken a big decision to make the treatment system in the government hospitals and medical colleges of the state world class. Now state-of-the-art robotic surgery will be started in medical colleges for complex operations. Along with this, Maternity and Child Health (MCH) hospitals with a capacity of 50 beds will be established in every district. Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department, Ajay Kumar Singh gave these instructions to civil surgeons, principals and superintendents of medical colleges in the virtual review meeting. In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on strengthening the infrastructure of hospitals and providing all the necessary facilities to the patients under one roof.
Maternal and child health services will expand
In the meeting, the outline of new maternity and child health hospitals was decided, giving priority to the health of mother and child. Modern medical equipment will be installed in all the proposed 50-bed hospitals so that there is no shortage in delivery and care of newborns. Specialist doctors will be mandatorily deployed in these hospitals. Under the primary plan, it has been agreed to arrange for at least 10 specialist doctors in each MCH hospital. With this, pregnant women coming from rural and remote areas will not have to travel to big cities and there will be an effective decline in maternal mortality rate.
Sadar Hospital will become a multi specialty center
All the sadar hospitals of the state will no longer be limited to only primary care, but will be completely developed as multi-specialty hospitals. The department has done a detailed analysis of the modern machines, human resources and other infrastructure required for this. In the meeting, the progress of cataract operation using phaco method in Sadar hospitals was also reviewed. This modern facility was found already operational in most of the districts. In the districts where there are phaco machines but there are no trained doctors, the doctors there have been ordered to immediately undergo special training at RIMS Ranchi.
Robotic surgery and reinstatement of teachers in medical colleges
Robotic surgery is being made mandatory in all the medical colleges of the state to raise the level of medical education and treatment. Additional Chief Secretary said that the department will make available all the machines and equipment required for this technology very soon. This will make complex surgical procedures extremely precise and less risky. On the issue of shortage of faculty in medical colleges, he clarified that till the regular appointments are not completed, education and treatment should be maintained smoothly by reinstatement of qualified teachers on contract basis.
125 new managers to manage hospitals
125 new hospital managers will be deployed to control the increasing crowd of patients in government hospitals and to streamline administrative work. According to the plan, two dedicated hospital managers will be given to each district. Apart from this, a community health center will be upgraded in each assembly constituency and a hospital manager will be posted there too. These posts have also been created to strengthen the management in sub-divisional hospitals. This will free doctors from administrative hassles and they will be able to focus only on the treatment of patients.
Specialist doctors will be appointed immediately on contract.
To overcome the shortage of doctors in Sadar and sub-divisional hospitals, instructions have been given to speed up the contract based recruitment process. The contract manual has already been approved by the Cabinet. In such a situation, the Civil Surgeon will soon complete the appointment of necessary specialist doctors at his level. Along with this, in view of the threat of seasonal diseases and swine flu, all hospitals have been asked to maintain adequate stock of medicines, isolation wards and necessary testing kits. Strict instructions have been issued to completely follow the advisory of the Union Health Ministry.
