In a thrilling summit clash played on Sunday, the Superstars outclassed the Central Delhi Kings by 7 wickets, sealing their maiden DPL title in style with stellar half-centuries from Anmol Sharma and Ankit Dabas at the iconic Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Central Delhi Kings Post 182 Runs Batting First
Winning the toss and opting to bat, the Central Delhi Kings put up a competitive total of 182 runs on the board. Opening batter Samarth Singh anchored the innings with a solid 51 runs, while skipper Jonty Sidhu provided a late-innings flourish with an aggressive 36 runs off just 19 balls.
Despite setting a challenging target, the Kings’ bowling attack struggled to contain a determined South Delhi batting lineup. Chasing a target of 183, the South Delhi Superstars suffered an early setback when they lost their first wicket at 46 runs. However, Anmol Sharma and Ankit Dabas stitched together a magnificent 89-run partnership that completely turned the momentum of the match.
Anmol played a fluent knock of 62 runs off 41 balls, while Ankit remained unbeaten on a blistering 62 runs off 34 deliveries, smashing five fours and four sixes.
