Russia gave a big offer to India, China and Pakistan were shocked!

New Delhi. To further strengthen India's air defence, Russia has proposed to provide five additional squadrons of S-400 Sudarshan air defense system. According to reports, this deal could be worth more than Rs 50 thousand crore. Currently, the process is going on from India's side on the proposal.

India signed the first order for five S-400 squadrons in 2018, of which four have been delivered. The last squadron is expected to be delivered by November this year. Once a new agreement is agreed upon, delivery of additional systems could begin approximately three years later.

Strength will increase on eastern and western front

Additional S-400 units are planned to be deployed on both India's eastern and western fronts. This will further strengthen the country's multi-layered air defense network and increase its ability to deal with air threats coming from long distances.

The role of the S-400 system was also described as important during Operation Sindoor. According to Indian Air Force officials, this air defense system played an important role in stopping enemy air operations.

India does not want to depend only on foreign systems. The country is also developing an indigenous long-range air defense system under Project Kusha. Also, work is going on to create a strong air defense shield across the country through Mission Sudarshan Chakra.

If the deal for five additional S-400 squadrons goes ahead, it is expected to be a major boost to India's air defense capability. However, the final decision and official agreement will be awaited.
