After Campa, Reliance's entry in ice cream market, 'Bombay Creamery' will start at just Rs 10

Mukesh Ambani's Reliance has entered the ice cream market and launched the 'Bombay Creamery' brand. Its starting price has been kept at only Rs 10. The company is currently launching it in Western India and is planning to further expand across the country.

Tezzbuzz Desk- Reliance no longer wants to be limited to just telecom, retail and soft drinks. The company has also registered its presence in the ice cream segment. Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL) has launched a new ice cream brand named 'Bombay Creamery' in the market. Its price is starting from Rs 10. The company is entering the market with many options like cups, cones and sticks.

The effect of Reliance's entry was seen not only in the ice cream market but also in the stock market. After the news came out, the shares of Quality Walls fell by about 3 percent to Rs 43 on BSE on Wednesday. This was the seventh consecutive trading session when the company's shares fell. During this period the shares fell by about 11 percent.

At the same time, Amul's products like Mango Flavor Stick and Kashmiri Kesar Kulfi are available on online quick-commerce platforms for around Rs 20. In such a situation, Reliance has started direct low price competition in the market by keeping the starting price at Rs 10.

Claim of not compromising on quality

According to RCPL Director T. Krishnakumar, the company will not compromise on the quality of ice cream despite keeping the price low. He says that 'Bombay Creamery' has been prepared from real dairy cream and has been introduced keeping in mind the budget of Indian families.

Apart from the traditional vanilla and chocolate, the company has also included flavors like Salted Caramel, Matcha and Tiramisu. With the increasing use of quick-commerce platforms, the trend of online delivery of ice cream has also increased rapidly.

bet like campa cola

The strategy of quickly making space in a new segment through low prices is not new for Reliance. The company had also re-launched the soft drink brand Campa Cola in the market with a starting price of Rs 10. After this, competition in the cold drinks market intensified and existing companies had to change their strategies.

The sale of Campa Cola also proved to be a big success for Reliance. Its gross sales reached more than Rs 4,700 crore in the financial year 2026. Now the company is trying to repeat a similar strategy in the ice cream market through 'Bombay Creamery'.

Ice cream market is growing rapidly

The demand for ice cream is continuously increasing in India. Rising temperatures, prolonged heat and increasing spending power of people have given impetus to this market. According to Expert Market Research data, the country's ice cream market is growing at the rate of about 15 percent CAGR and is expected to reach $ 16.10 billion by 2035.

Reliance is not just eyeing big cities. The company is preparing to expand its reach to small cities and towns also. For this, special freezers are being installed in retail shops with a strong distribution network, so that the product can be delivered to as many customers as possible.

DR Choksey According to Finserv MD Deven Choksey, Reliance's entry into ice cream is part of its long-term strategy. If 'Bombay Creamery' also achieves success like Campa Cola, then competition from the ice cream companies already present in the market may increase further.
