Delhi Rain News: Torrential rains disrupted life in the national capital Delhi and NCR on the afternoon of Friday, September 4. Due to heavy rains, waterlogging situation arose in many areas. The biggest problem was seen at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport), where due to water logging, the arrival area of the airport had to be closed for some time.
Heavy waterlogging outside IGI Airport
After the rain, the roads outside the airport were submerged in water. Passengers faced a lot of difficulty in getting out and reaching the vehicles. Passengers and airport employees said that such conditions have been seen here after a long time. Traffic was also affected due to waterlogging.
Water in many areas of Delhi
Due to continuous rain in Delhi, many areas including Subroto Park and Narmada Apartment were waterlogged. Vehicular movement was affected due to water logging on the roads, while pedestrians also faced difficulties in crossing the road.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert indicating the possibility of rain and thundershowers in Delhi-NCR. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be moderate rain with generally cloudy sky on Friday and Saturday.
Heavy rain in Gurugram also
Along with Delhi, there was heavy rain in Gurugram also on Friday. The low lying areas were flooded due to the rain that followed the dark clouds since morning. Waterlogging and potholes on many roads increased the problems of the people. Despite claims by the administration to stop waterlogging, the situation appeared challenging in many areas.
It rained on Thursday also
Light rain was recorded in some parts of Delhi on Thursday. 3.9 mm rainfall was recorded at Ayanagar, 3.1 mm at Palam and 0.8 mm at Lodhi Road. The minimum temperature in Safdarjung was 27 degrees Celsius, which was 1.4 degrees above normal.
