If media reports are to be believed, Narendran's name is leading in this. At the same time, Saurabh Aggarwal is also in this race, while Ashish Chauhan can prove to be an unexpected contender in this race. Ashish Chauhan, a graduate from IIT Mumbai and a postgraduate management degree from IIM Calcutta, has also worked in Reliance Industries and IDBI Bank. He is currently leading NSE's Rs 30,000 crore IPO, which will be the largest IPO in Indian history. With this, the valuation of NSE will be around Rs 5 lakh crore and it will be included among the 10 most valuable Indian companies in terms of market capitalisation.
However, the selection process for Tata Sons chairman is still ongoing and no final decision has been taken. The board of Tata Sons and the trusts controlling the holding company are expected to play an important role in choosing the next chairman.
Recently, N Chandrasekaran has decided not to seek re-appointment to the post of Tata Sons. Talking about Chandrasekaran, he took over as the chairman of Tata Sons in the year 2017 and is currently completing his second five-year term. His tenure is scheduled to end on 20 February 2027. After this, he will not seek reappointment.
