South Africa ODI Squad: South Africa has announced its team for the 3-match home ODI series against Australia. The command of this team has been handed over to Temba Bavuma. Experienced batsman David Miller and wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock have also been included in South Africa’s ODI team. This makes it clear that Miller and De Kock remain in the board’s plans for the 2027 ODI World Cup. Both these players do not even have a central contract, but they were part of the T20 World Cup this year.
South Africa head coach Shukri Conrad said on Monday (September 7), ‘Whenever we need Quinny (Quinton de Kock), he will play. ODI cricket is probably Quinny’s best format and he will play all the ODI matches. He further said that David Miller will play against Australia, but probably will not be able to play against Bangladesh, because he has to play ILT20.
Kagiso Rabada out due to injury
South Africa’s experienced fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has not been included in the ODI team. Rabada is currently recovering from a hamstring injury, due to which he is out of the series. In his place, star fast bowler Gerald Coetzee has returned to the ODI team. He last participated in the ODI World Cup 2023 in India. Coetzee has suffered from many injuries in the last three years.

Dewald Brevis didn’t get a chance
The most surprising thing in this team is that the name of young batsman Dewald Brevis is not included in it. Brewis has not been given a chance for the ODI series, due to which the fans are furious. In place of Brewis, left-handed batsman Tony DeGeorge has got a chance, which the fans are probably not liking.
