According to reports, he was posing as an officer attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, i.e. PMO. After checking his identity, the case was found suspicious and the police was informed.

Claiming to have received fake PMO credentials

According to initial media reports, a fake PMO identity card was recovered from the detainee. Some reports put his age at 24 years. Police are now probing where the identity card was produced and why it was used. The Mumbai Police had initially informed that two persons had been detained and the questioning had started. Considering the seriousness of the matter, Mumbai Crime Branch has also joined the investigation.

A pistol was found with the accomplice

The whole matter became more serious when a pistol was recovered from the accompanying person. However, according to a report published later, officials said that the weapon found was licensed. The police are now probing why fake or dubious government identification was used, what was the purpose of the two men there and what is the background to the entire incident.

A case of identification as a PMO officer against one

According to a report, the statement of an accompanying person was recorded and released after police questioning, while the BKC police have registered a case against a person for falsely identifying as a PMO official and are conducting further investigations.
