Apple has launched the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, introducing a new Health Sensing System, the S11 chip and several new health, fitness and AI-powered features.
The Apple Watch Series 12 focuses on health and everyday wellness, while the Apple Watch Ultra 4 is aimed at athletes, outdoor enthusiasts and users looking for longer battery life and a more rugged design. Both models introduce higher-frequency heart-rate and heart-rate variability (HRV) measurements along with a new Readiness score.
Apple Watch Series 12, Ultra 4 price in India
The Apple Watch Series 12 starts at Rs 56,900 in India, while the Apple Watch Ultra 4 starts at Rs 1,09,900.
Pre-orders for both watches have started in India, with availability beginning Friday, September 18. India is among the countries included in the first wave of availability.
Apple Watch Series 12 features
The Apple Watch Series 12 comes with Apple’s new Health Sensing System, which is designed to provide more frequent heart-rate and HRV measurements.
The watch can measure heart rate at a higher frequency, while the new sensors help power features such as the Readiness score and other health and fitness insights.
The new Readiness feature provides a daily score based on factors including recent activity, training load, vital signs and sleep. It is designed to help users understand how prepared they may be for the day ahead.
Apple is also introducing a redesigned Health app later this year with a new Longevity tab and a Health Age feature, which compares certain health metrics with a user’s chronological age.
New S11 chip and Apple Intelligence
Both Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 are powered by Apple’s new S11 chip.
The chip enables new Audio Intelligence features, including Sound Recognition, Live Rewind and Siri Recap. These features are designed to help users remember important moments from conversations and stay aware of relevant sounds.
With watchOS 27, Apple Intelligence also brings Siri AI to Apple Watch, providing personal-context understanding and broader knowledge directly on the wrist.
Apple Watch Series 12 design and display
Apple Watch Series 12 is available in several finishes, including dark bronze, black, light gold and space grey aluminium, along with radiant gold and natural titanium options.
Apple is also offering the Series 12 in ceramic, with pearl white and night blue finishes.
The aluminium models feature Ceramic Shield 2, which Apple says is 60 per cent tougher than the Ion-X glass used on previous aluminium models.
Apple Watch Ultra 4 features
The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is Apple’s latest rugged smartwatch designed for sports, fitness and outdoor activities.
It also features the new Health Sensing System and S11 chip, bringing higher-frequency heart-rate and HRV measurements along with the new Readiness score.
The Ultra 4 offers up to 45 hours of battery life during outdoor workouts, while Apple says it provides the most accurate on-device GPS in a sports watch.
The watch is available in natural titanium and black titanium finishes.
Health and safety features
The new Apple Watch models continue to offer features including advanced workout tracking, sleep tracking, heart-health notifications and the ECG app.
Safety features include Fall Detection and Emergency SOS, while the Ultra lineup also offers satellite communication capabilities.
Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 availability in India
Customers in India can pre-order both watches now, with availability beginning September 18.
