The country’s major oil marketing companies (OMCs)—Indian Oil (Indane), Bharat Gas and Hindustan Petroleum (HP Gas)—have released the official rates of LPG gas cylinders for September 13, 2026. To balance the kitchen budget just ahead of the festive season, prices of domestic gas cylinders (14.2 kg) have remained stable, while rates vary across states and cities depending on local taxes and freight charges. On the other hand, the prices of 19 kg commercial cylinders used by restaurants, dhabas and confectioners also remain at a stable level across metros.
Today’s rates for 14.2 kg non-subsidized domestic gas cylinder used in kitchens of common households are as follows:
| City | Price of 14.2 kg domestic cylinder |
| New Delhi | ₹942.00 |
| mumbai | ₹941.50 |
| Kolkata | ₹968.00 |
| Chennai | ₹957.50 |
| Lucknow | ₹979.50 |
| Noida / Ghaziabad (Noida) | ₹939.50 |
| Gurugram | ₹950.50 |
| Patna | ₹1,031.50 – ₹1,042.00 |
| Jaipur | ₹945.50 |
| Bengaluru | ₹944.50 |
| Hyderabad | ₹994.00 |
The rates for 19 kg blue commercial cylinders used in hotels, catering and commercial establishments in the metros are as follows:
-
New Delhi: ₹2,747.50 per cylinder
-
Mumbai: ₹2,701.00 per cylinder
-
Kolkata: ₹2,884.00 per cylinder
-
Chennai: ₹2,916.50 per cylinder
-
Lucknow: ₹2,870.00 per cylinder
-
Patna: ₹3,029.00 per cylinder
The price of LPG cylinder is always higher in Patna compared to the national capital Delhi. There are two main reasons behind this:
-
State Level VAT: VAT and local cess on petroleum and gas products vary in different states.
-
Transportation & Logistics: Distances from refineries and gas bottling plants to consumer distribution centers and road transport costs add to the per cylinder transportation charge in cities in eastern India and Bihar, pushing a domestic cylinder beyond ₹1,000 in Patna.
Targeted subsidy of ₹ 300 per cylinder is sent by the Central Government to the poor families enrolled under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) directly into their bank accounts through DBT. This means that a cylinder that is available for ₹942 to general consumers in Delhi effectively costs ₹642 to Ujjwala beneficiaries. This subsidy is payable up to a total of 12 refills of 14.2 kg in a financial year.
