During a press conference in Lucknow on Sunday, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati mentioned a phone call. He said that Akash Anand had called party in-charge Alok Kumar at his residence. He asked Alok Kumar about Mayawati's health. Alok Kumar replied that Mayawati is absolutely fine and is busy with her work. According to Mayawati, Akash then said that he should not tell this to Mayawati. He described Akash's call as a matter of concern.
Mayawati gave a big statement in this press conference regarding her nephew Akash Anand. He said that despite being completely separated from the party, Akash Anand is working under the influence of his father-in-law and former party leader Ashok Siddharth. Mayawati also alleged that some people expelled from the party for the last one or two days are trying to spread confusion among the workers regarding her health.

Mayawati targets Akash Anand
Mayawati said that Akash's call is a matter of concern. He said whether Akash's intentions were right or wrong but it seems that he is not taking his own decisions. According to Mayawati, Akash is still working under the influence of Ashok Siddharth. He alleged that the people expelled from the party were creating confusion among the workers regarding his illness.

A few days ago, Mayawati had announced the complete separation of Akash Anand from the party. Earlier on September 3, he was removed from the post of national coordinator of BSP. Mayawati had said that Akash's focus is more on personal and family interests than the Bahujan movement. Akash was expelled from the party earlier also but later he returned.
Mayawati also targeted Ashok's retirement
Akash Anand's father-in-law Ashok Siddharth had announced his retirement from politics and social life. Mayawati justified his decision but said that this step was taken very late after his ultimatum. He claimed that the delay indicated that Ashok Siddhartha still had political ambitions.

Ashok Siddharth was expelled from BSP in March 2025 on charges of factionalism. He returned in September 2025, but was again expelled from the party in 2026. At the same time, Akash Anand was also expelled earlier and later returned to the party. Now Mayawati has completely separated him from the party.
