Now not just talk from BRICS, concrete results are expected, PM Modi congratulated China

New Delhi: On the second and last day of the BRICS summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said important things regarding the future role of the group. Addressing the open session of the summit held in Delhi, PM Modi said that BRICS is now moving towards its third decade and at such a time the expectations of the world have also increased. He said that now mere announcements and ideas will not suffice, but concrete results are expected from the group.

The Prime Minister congratulated China for hosting the next BRICS summit. He expressed gratitude to all the leaders and their teams involved in making the conference organized in New Delhi a success. Along with this, he has wished a safe and pleasant journey of all the delegates.

Mention of the growing confidence of the Global South

PM Modi also mentioned the growing confidence of Global South countries in BRICS. He said that India has tried to strengthen the spirit of friendship, partnership and cooperation through this platform. He described BRICS initiatives in areas like disaster management, cooperation among MSME sectors and environmental protection as important. PM Modi said that the group's cooperation should not be limited to governments only. It is necessary that businessmen, farmers, researchers, women, youth and common citizens also become active participants in this.

China proposed cooperation in five areas including AI

At the conference, Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed five new initiatives to advance cooperation among BRICS countries. In these, emphasis was laid on the development of talents in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Trade and Investment, Digital Industry, Smart Manufacturing and Science-Technology. As part of AI-related initiatives, China has talked about creating BRICS AI open-source community. Apart from this, it was also proposed to cooperate in the development and use of large language models, AI-related training programs and promotion of an open AI ecosystem.

During the summit, Prime Minister Modi has also shared many pictures on social media platform X. These included photographs of him with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian. While sharing the 'family photo' of the BRICS leaders and invited delegates, PM Modi also mentioned the group's growing global role and spirit of cooperation.
