New Delhi. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Thalapathy Vijay are on London tour these days. During his tour on Tuesday, his fans were disappointed when one of his proposed programs in London was cancelled. A large number of fans had gathered outside London's famous building The Shard to get a glimpse of Vijay. Many people waited for him for hours but ultimately had to return without seeing Vijay.
According to the report, Vijay's program did not get permission from London's Metropolitan Police. Security related reasons were cited by the police. After this, Vijay's team informed about the cancellation of the program through a loudspeaker outside the venue. Fans were told that keeping the safety of the people in mind, permission has not been given to organize the program.
Some fans were present outside The Shard for about four hours waiting for Vijay. After getting information about the cancellation of the programme, he had to return disappointed. A fan present there said that it was okay to cancel the show due to security reasons but he and others had been waiting for a long time. He also said that the crowd present in London was much smaller than the crowd gathered during Vijay's events in Tamil Nadu.
Vijay's London tour is not limited to just meeting fans. He is leading a delegation to Britain with the aim of attracting investment in Tamil Nadu. According to the information given by the Chief Minister's Office, many investment agreements related to Tamil Nadu have been signed during the London visit. The total investment of these agreements is said to be around Rs 12300 crore.
These proposed investments include areas such as vehicle component manufacturing, research and development, renewable energy, power grid equipment and Global Capability Centre. According to the Tamil Nadu government, these investments are expected to create new employment opportunities in the state.
The main agreement among these is said to be related to Motherson International Limited. The company is planning to invest around Rs 11000 crore to expand its design engineering manufacturing integration and logistics centers in Tamil Nadu. It is expected to create about 7000 jobs.
Apart from this, Britain's Wilson Power Solutions will invest around Rs 300 crore for the next phase of its operations related to transformer manufacturing in Tiruvallur district. This project is expected to create approximately 400 new jobs.
Vijay is scheduled to return to India from Britain on Wednesday. Despite his program in London being canceled due to security reasons, his visit remains in the news due to the agreements related to investment in Tamil Nadu. On one hand, this whole incident has disappointed Vijay's fans and on the other hand, his investment efforts related to political and administrative tours have also come into limelight.
