An employee shared a post on Reddit about the incident, recounting his experience. “I got fired from Google Meet,” he wrote in the post. Explaining his situation, the employee further wrote, “Till yesterday I was part of the customer support team of an American bank. Due to work reasons they asked us to work from home yesterday. I was working the 6:30 pm shift and at 9:30 pm they called us on Google Meet to inform us that the entire Indian customer service team has been fired!”
The person added, “All 80 employees! All gone.” Just one call of five minutes affected 80 families. I feel bad that we work for companies that can fire us at any time, and I regret putting so much effort into my work. Plus, I don't know how to get a new job! It's pretty terrible.
