Sushma Verma and Shikha Pandey found themselves on the losing side despite returning strong performances for Trinbago Knight Riders as Guyana Amazon Warriors was crowned as champion of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League on Thursday.
After it won the toss and opted to bat first, Sushma top-scored for the Knight Riders with 39 from 34 balls with two fours and two sixes as it notched up a score of 145 for six from its 20 overs.

Marizanne Kapp played a quickfire cameo of 25 from 10 balls before Shikha put the finishing touches on the innings with 27 from 17 balls with two fours and two sixes.
She also claimed figures of two for 33 from her four overs, dismissing Eboni Brathwaite and Sheneta Grimmond. However, Nadine de Klerk and Chedean Nation’s quickfire innings’ were enough to help the Warriors get over the line with three balls to spare.
