Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday launched the 'National Youth Religion Parliament' in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. About 1700 Zen-ji attended the conference. Mohan Bhagwat explained the meaning of religion to the youth and told that religion is not a thing of old age. He also told that religion is not religion. Religion is above religion. It has been there since the beginning of creation and will last till the end.

This statement of Mohan Bhagwat was given in the context of religion and not government, giving the example of Surya. 'Everything works according to religion'
In his conversation, Mohan Bhagwat said, 'When I heard about the Youth Religion Parliament, I felt good thinking about it, because the idea of religion is thought by the youth… this is not heard. When we talk about religion, people say that it is a matter of old age. Bhagavad Gita and Ramayana are scriptures to be read after retirement, but it is not so. This religion… remains at least from the beginning of existence till the end of existence. All things work accordingly. You may believe it or not.
Taking this point further, Bhagwat said, 'There are such things in the world. Now there is sun. You can't do anything about it. We don't believe, don't believe. Its rise and fall are certain. Man is egoistic… he does what he believes to be my power everywhere, due to this he also has such misconceptions in his mind that he acts as per his own will. but it's not like that.'

Bhagwat said that if we want to understand religion then we will have to free ourselves from some things already ingrained in our minds. Religion is not a thing of old age. Religion has existed since the beginning of creation and will definitely continue till its dissolution. Everything works that way. For me, my religion is fixed from my birth and will remain till my death. Bhagwat described religion as the cause of all happiness.
Religion is not religion: Bhagwat
Mohan Bhagwat said that people do not know the meaning of the word religion. The reason behind that is that we forgot our language. Westerners saw people practicing religion in our country. They did not understand what this thing was. Some practice has to be done while practicing religion.
The Sangh chief gave the example that if you are interested in wrestling then you have to go to the arena and hold vigorous meetings. The thrust meeting is not wrestling. But if you want to play wrestling, you have to go there. Similarly, religion has a ritual. One has to go through that. There is a discipline that takes us there. That is also a small part of religion. That is not everything. Seeing this, the West felt that it was like our religion. They made religion a religion and we also started calling religion a religion. The Sangh chief said that religion is not religion. Religion is above religion.
