Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch the new avatar of its popular sub-compact SUV Francox in India. This car, which was launched in the Indian automobile market in 2023, will now be introduced as a facelift model in 2026. Recently, the prototype of Maruti Frontx Facelift 2026 has been spotted during testing on Indian roads, which has revealed important information about its new features and design updates.
New changes and designs seen during testing
Recent spy pictures make it clear that the overall silhouette and shape of the 2026 Maruti Suzuki Suzuki Swift facelift will remain the same as the current model. However, the company will introduce a new front grille, re-designed front and rear bumpers to give newness to its exterior. Apart from this, slight changes can also be seen in the layout of headlights and tail lamps.
Big update in safety: Level-2 ADAS will be available
Instead of minor updates in the design, there will be a major change in its cabin and safety features. Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) module has been seen in the testing model. Apart from this, 360-degree camera and additional front parking sensors have been added to the car to make safety and parking easier. The interior is expected to get a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a new steering wheel and better upholstery material than before.
All-wheel drive (AWD) and powertrain options
In terms of powertrain, the biggest surprise could be the all-wheel drive (AWD) system. The test mule has been seen testing with an AWD setup. Talking about engine options, it is likely to continue with the existing two petrol engines:
- 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine: 80 hp power and 113 Nm torque.
- 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine: 99 hp power and 147 Nm torque.
What will change for customers?
The addition of modern features like ADAS and AWD will make the FrontShoes a safer and tech-loaded option in its category. With the all-wheel drive system, it will provide better grip and control on bad roads and challenging weather, which can give it a direct lead in this segment.
