According to a report, as the festive season begins in the country, businesses in sectors such as e-commerce, quick commerce, retail, logistics, hospitality, travel and customer service are gearing up for the busiest and most demanding time of the year.
Early recruitment
Employers are now hiring faster and moving beyond traditional employment centers, relying more on technology-based, capable and easily deployable manpower.
Recruiting to meet demand during the festive season is no longer just a short-term need, but a way to reach out to new talent pools, assess their capabilities at scale and create long-term employment opportunities.
Start planning manpower requirements
According to reports, companies start planning their manpower requirements around 12-14 weeks before peak demand during the festive season. This helps them to prepare talented manpower in advance and reduce short-term recruitment stress. The festive season recruitment is expanding geographically as well. About 45 percent of the total recruitment demand during the festive season is expected to come from Tier II and Tier III cities, with recruitment expected to increase by 25-30 percent in these markets.
Demand for employment in such cities is increasing
E-commerce, quick commerce, organized retailing and expansion of regional order fulfillment networks are increasing employment demand in cities like Jaipur, Lucknow, Indore, Surat, Nagpur, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Chandigarh and Kochi. According to reports, youth and women, who are working for the first time, are emerging as a significant talent pool during the festive season.
