The youth had appeared in the Police Entrance and Recruitment Test (PEMT) held at Delhi Police Academy.
New Delhi. On Monday, during a race organized for police recruitment in Wazirabad, Delhi, a 23-year-old youth suddenly collapsed and died. Police gave this information. According to the police, Sonia Vihar police station received information about the incident from Jag Pravesh Chand (JPC) Hospital at around 11:11 am. The youth was brought to the emergency ward of the hospital through PCR van from Delhi Police Academy (DPA) in Wazirabad, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police said that the youth has been identified as Saurabh Kumar (23). He was a resident of Neta Nagar located in Salamatpur village of Anupshahar. A senior police officer said that Saurabh had appeared in the Police Entrance and Recruitment Test (PEMT) held at the Delhi Police Academy in Wazirabad.
According to him, during the race, Saurabh suddenly collapsed on the field/track and was immediately given first aid and taken to JPC Hospital through PCR personnel, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police said that the body has been sent to GTB Hospital for post-mortem. Necessary action has been initiated under the Indian Civil Defense Code at Sonia Vihar police station. Further action and investigation is ongoing in the matter.
