IndiGo flight 6E 7642, which took off from Noida International Airport to Jaipur on Sunday, turned back due to a technical glitch. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot encountered a technical problem. ATC was contacted and permission was obtained to return the aircraft, and it landed safely at the airport. Around 20 passengers were on board the plane. There were no injuries.
Indigo offers rescheduling and refund options
After the plane suffered a technical glitch, it landed safely at Noida International Airport and served breakfast to the passengers. IndiGo gave passengers the option to reschedule their tickets, take an alternative flight or get a refund to continue their journey. Passengers chose refund and rescheduling options as per their convenience. The returned aircraft is parked in a hangar at Noida Airport. A technical team will now investigate the cause of the fault.
A number of tests are likely to be conducted
The investigation is expected to include a ground test, including an examination of the aircraft’s technical log, cockpit warnings and related system equipment. Relevant components and maintenance records will also be examined if required. The flight will be resumed only after the fault is rectified and the aircraft is declared technically safe for flight.
Official information regarding the exact cause and system malfunction is yet to be released. From Monday, IndiGo has resumed regular flights on 6E 7646 from Noida to Jaipur.
