On 24.09.2026, a joint inspection of District Jail Gurma, District Sonbhadra was conducted by the District Judge (DJ), Additional Superintendent of Police Headquarters, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) and District School Inspector (DIOS).
During the inspection, the officials took stock of the security arrangements, barracks, condition of prisoners, food arrangements, medical facilities and cleanliness of the district jail. Necessary guidelines were given to the concerned officials and jail administration. After talking to the prisoners, the officers took information about their problems and available facilities and the prison administration was directed to immediately resolve the problems of the prisoners.
During the inspection, necessary instructions were given to the concerned officers regarding strengthening the security and other arrangements of the prison.
