Lucknow, Read. Dharampal Singh has once again got the responsibility of State General Secretary Organization of Uttar Pradesh BJP. Dharampal, who has been working in this role since 2022, will now take charge of the UP organization for the second consecutive time. He has the organizational structure of the state in front of him, but behind this responsibility he also has a journey of almost four decades. The political journey that started from Bijnor, reached various responsibilities of the BJP organization via Vidyarthi Parishad and now has again come to rest in UP.
Association with student council after engineering studies
Dharampal Singh is originally from Bijnor. He studied mechanical engineering and joined Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in the year 1986. Four years later, in 1990, he started working as a full-time worker. While in Vidyarthi Parishad, he got the responsibility of Organization Minister of Western Uttar Pradesh. Later he also became a national minister. While working for the organization, his scope was not limited to western UP only. Along with handling the responsibility of the organization in the combined area of UP and Uttarakhand, he also worked in Uttarakhand, Braj and Eastern Uttar Pradesh. During this time, he got the experience of working with organizations and workers in different parts of the state.
Organizational experience of many states, not just one state
An important milestone in Dharampal Singh's journey came in 2017. In July 2017, he was given the responsibility of State General Secretary Organization of Jharkhand BJP. He continued to look after the work of the organization in Jharkhand for about five years. After this, he got organizational responsibilities in different elections also. He took over the work of the organization during the Bihar Assembly elections in 2020 and Assam Assembly elections in 2021. In 2022, he was given the responsibility of Uttar Pradesh. In this way, before returning to UP, he had got experience of working with different structures of the organization in other states.
Responsibility of UP organization in 2022
In August 2022, Dharampal Singh was made the State General Secretary Organization of Uttar Pradesh BJP. Since then, booth and grassroots organizations have been at the center of his activities. From the meetings of districts and divisions to the dialogue with booth level workers, his emphasis was on keeping the lower unit of the organization active. In the last few years, his meetings have seen constant communication with booth presidents, Shakti Kendra coordinators and mandal level officials.
Dharampal Singh has again got the responsibility of UP State General Secretary (Organization). After this, a picture of the old days was shared on social media by one of his supporters.
'If you win the booth, you win the election' became the main message.
Booth gets special importance in the organizational working style of Dharampal Singh. From the Booth President Conference in 2024 to the Lucknow meetings of 2025 and the election preparations of 2026, he repeatedly gave the message of 'if you win the booth, you win the election'. In a meeting with Moradabad division officials in Amroha in July 2026, he also described the strategy for the 2027 assembly elections as booth-centric. Describing Shakti Kendra as an important link between the booth and the division, he stressed on regular communication, responsibility and follow-up.
Long base of experience in UP organization
The special thing about Dharampal Singh's organizational journey is that it combines the experience of many states with different parts of UP. After working in Western UP, Braj, Eastern UP and Uttarakhand during the Vidyarthi Parishad era, he took over the organization in Jharkhand for about five years. After this, he also performed organizational responsibilities in Bihar and Assam. When he got the responsibility of UP after 2022, he had experience of working in different parts of the state and also in organizations of other states. Now with getting the responsibility of UP for the second time, the same experience is the background of his current organizational work.
Responsibility of UP for the second time
In the latest organizational appointments of BJP, Dharampal Singh has again been made the State General Secretary Organization of Uttar Pradesh. His center will be Lucknow. Abhay Giri has been made the organizer of Braj region and his center will be Agra. Dharampal Singh's new responsibility can be seen as a continuation of his long organizational journey. In the journey that started from Vidyarthi Parishad in 1986, the role of a full-time worker, experience in different areas of UP, responsibility of organization in Jharkhand and work of election organization in Bihar-Assam got added. He got the responsibility of UP in 2022 and now he has returned in the same role for the second time.
