New Delhi:- In order to further strengthen the health services in the state and effectively reach them till the last mile, the Health Department has appointed 45 doctors. With these appointments made under the direction and guidance of Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, the necessary medical human resources in health institutions have been further strengthened. These doctors appointed under the National Health Mission have been posted in the First Referral Unit (FRU) at the Community Health Centre, Civil Hospital and District Hospital level. This will further strengthen the system of providing better, timely and necessary medical services to the patients in these institutions.
The posting of these 45 doctors will expand the service capacity of FRU level health institutions. Increasing availability of doctors will provide patients access to medical consultation and treatment at the local level and will help in ensuring timely medical assessment, necessary treatment and appropriate referral for further treatment in serious and emergency cases.
FRUs are an important link in the health system, providing essential medical services at the local level and referring serious patients to higher level health institutions. Availability of physicians will help in managing maternal and child health services as well as emergency medical and referral services more effectively.
The benefit of these appointments will be in increasing the reach of health services, especially in rural and remote areas. The availability of doctors in local health institutions will reduce the need for patients to travel unnecessarily far for essential medical services beyond the primary level and the system of taking them to higher level treatment on time as per the need will be more effective.
The state government is continuously laying emphasis on making health services accessible, quality and people-centric as well as ensuring availability of necessary human resources in health institutions. This appointment of 45 doctors is an important initiative in this direction, which will play an important role in making FRU level health services more efficient in the state and taking health services to the last mile.
