New Delhi. The Supreme Court has once again adopted a balanced stance regarding burning of firecrackers on Diwali. The court has refused to impose a complete ban on firecrackers and has also made it clear that firecrackers can be used only as per the rules related to environment and health.

As per the previous directions of the Supreme Court, only green crackers have been allowed. It is necessary to follow the prescribed standards and certification for the sale and use of such firecrackers. Along with this, the court has also maintained the ban on the use of barium salt in firecrackers.
Time for bursting crackers is also fixed
As per the existing directions of the court, the period for bursting of firecrackers on Diwali and some other festivals has been fixed from 8 pm to 10 pm. The responsibility of ensuring compliance with these rules has been given to the local administration.
Which firecrackers are banned?

Restrictive rules are in place on non-green firecrackers, barium firecrackers, and stringed firecrackers. Instructions have been given to sell these firecrackers only through designated or licensed sellers.
This clearly means that firecrackers are not completely banned on Diwali, but burning crackers arbitrarily is also not allowed. Especially in Delhi-NCR, it is very important to follow the instructions of the local administration and the Supreme Court.
