A district court in Meerut delivered a landmark verdict on Wednesday, convicting Muskan Rastogi and her lover, Sahil Shukla, for the sensational murder of her husband, Saurabh Rajput, whose body was found in a blue drum.
District Judge Arvind Kumar Mishra ruled that Rastogi and Shukla conspired to murder Rajput and subsequently hid his body inside a blue plastic container filled with cement and sand. The conviction follows an extensive trial spanning 126 hearings and testimony from 22 witnesses.
According to reports, the chilling sequence began in March 2025 when Muskan allegedly drugged her husband before she and Shukla stabbed him to death. The couple then dismembered the remains, sealed them in the drum, and fled to Himachal Pradesh, where they were arrested roughly two weeks later through mobile tracking.
The prosecution built a strong case using circumstantial, physical, and technical evidence, including shopkeeper testimony, call records, and post-mortem findings, confirming the guilty verdict for murder and evidence destruction.
