The theatrical re-release of Marvel Studios’ 2019 blockbuster, Avengers: Endgame Encore, has sparked a massive wave of excitement among fans in North America and across the globe, proving the enduring power of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Hitting theatres on Sept 25, the special re-issue has quickly established itself as a top performer at the box office, driving momentum toward upcoming releases like Avengers: Doomsday.
In just six days, Avengers: Endgame Encore grossed a staggering $90.8 million worldwide. Domestic markets contributed $31.1 million (34.3% of its total earnings), while international territories brought in $59.6 million.
Opening at No. 1 during its first three-day weekend with $26.1 million, the film outperformed several fresh cinematic offerings, including Resident Evil, Heart of the Beastand Primetime.
This stellar performance has pushed the film’s lifetime global gross to an incredible $2.8 billion. More importantly, its domestic cumulative total has climbed to $889.5 million, putting it right on the verge of becoming only the third movie in box office history to cross the monumental $900 million mark in North America.
It currently trails only Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens on the all-time domestic charts.
As it heads into its second weekend, the re-release is poised to cross the $100 million worldwide mark, setting the stage for a massive box office showdown later this year between Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three.
