India Pakistan Final: India won the gold medal by defeating Pakistan by 19 runs in the men’s cricket final of Asian Games 2026. Batting first, India scored 211 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Pakistan team could score only 192 runs for 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. With this victory, the Indian men’s team won the cricket gold medal for the second consecutive time in the Asian Games.
India set a target of 212 runs
After winning the toss and coming to bat first, the Indian team had a fast start. Vaibhav Suryavanshi gave initial momentum to the team by scoring 15 runs. After this, Abhishek Sharma batted aggressively and completed his half-century in just 20 balls. He played a brilliant inning of 61 runs in 27 balls.
After Abhishek’s dismissal, the pace of the Indian innings slowed down for some time. Sanju Samson 2, Ishan Kishan 20 and captain Shreyas Iyer returned to the pavilion after scoring 21 runs. However, in the last overs, Tilak Verma and Shivam Dubey scored runs quickly.
Tilak Verma remained unbeaten by scoring 51 runs in just 22 balls, taking India to 211 runs. Shivam Dubey also played a useful inning of 27 runs. In this way, a target of 212 runs was set for Pakistan to win.
Pakistan’s innings faltered in the beginning itself
Pakistan’s chase of the target did not have a good start. The team lost three wickets within the first 15 balls. Captain Sahibzada Farhan was out after scoring 10 runs and Usman Khan was out after scoring only 3 runs. After this, Maaz Sadaqat scored 23 runs, but he too could not play a big innings.
The pressure on Pakistan increased due to continuous fall of wickets. However, Hasan Nawaz put up a brilliant fight against the Indian bowlers and scored an inning of 96 runs in 51 balls. He hit 5 fours and 7 sixes. His innings kept Pakistan’s hopes alive till the last overs.
