Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has raised questions on Delhi Police and Union Home Minister Amit Shah after a woman journalist accused a police officer of misbehavior at Jantar Mantar.
Tezzbuzz Desk- Rahul Gandhi said that hundreds of journalists have been sitting at Jantar Mantar for hours demanding that an FIR be registered on the complaint of the woman journalist. He raised the question that registering FIR is a basic job of the police, but even that was not done.
Rahul Gandhi claimed that hundreds of people were detained at Jantar Mantar on the same day. He also mentioned allegations of misbehavior with women protesters. Rahul said that cameras were snatched and journalists were dragged. He said that this is not the first time that Delhi Police has been accused of misbehaving with women. Rahul Gandhi said that even before this, allegations of objectionable behavior towards women against police officers have come to light through video evidence.
Rahul Gandhi said that the women and students of Delhi are worried about their safety and are doing Satyagraha. He raised the question that if the police, whose responsibility is to protect women, is being accused of raising hands with women, then what is the government doing.
He said that the government which is afraid of filing a woman's complaint, whom is it protecting? Rahul Gandhi said that Delhi Police is under the Union Home Ministry and Home Minister Amit Shah should answer to it.
