Sitarganj. The nomination process for the election session 2026-27 of Bar Association Sitarganj has been completed. The last date for filing nomination papers as per the scheduled schedule ended on Monday. Advocates have duly filed their nomination papers for various posts. Now the process of scrutiny of nomination papers has been started. After scrutiny, the final list of valid candidates will be published on October 6.
Under the election process, Advocate Karuna Rana and Advocate Shakti Pratap Singh have filed nominations for the post of President. Advocate Ram Badan, Advocate Javed Akhtar and Advocate Santosh Bhardwaj have submitted their claim for the post of Senior Vice President.
Advocate Suchitra Devi has filed nomination for the post of Vice President (Women's Reserved). Advocate Prakash Pandey, Advocate Yogendra Yadav and Advocate Hanif Ahmed are in the fray for the post of Secretary. Similarly, Advocate Ramesh Kant Prabhakar, Advocate Vishwajit Rai and Advocate Sarita have filed nomination papers for the post of Treasurer.
Advocate Tina has filed her nomination for the post of Senior Member (Women's Reserved), while Advocate Faisal Malik and Advocate Mobeen Ali have submitted their nomination for the post of Senior Member (General). Advocate Rachel has nominated for the post of Junior Member (Women's Reserve). Advocate Raja Sarkar and Advocate Afsar Ali have filed nomination papers for the post of Junior Member (General).
After the completion of the nomination process, all the nomination papers are now being scrutinized by the election officials. During the scrutiny, the validity of the nomination papers will be tested as per the prescribed rules and election schedule. After completion of the scrutiny process, the list of validly nominated candidates will be published on 6 October 2026.
There has also been an increase in activity among advocates regarding the Bar Association elections. Now the election activities are likely to intensify after the candidates filed nominations for various posts. Due to the emergence of candidates for other posts including President, Senior Vice President and Secretary, discussion has started among the lawyers regarding the elections. The election picture will become more clear after the list of valid candidates is released in the next phase of the election process.
On behalf of the Chief Electoral Officer of the Bar Association, all the advocate members have been informed about the completion of the nomination process. It has also been said that the further process will be carried out as per the election programme.
