'Save Democracy March' of INDIA block in protest against SIR, MPs of 19 parties including Rahul-Priyanka on the road; Demand for resignation of CEC

New Delhi. MPs from INDIA block have started 'Save Democracy March' in Delhi to protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list and demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. MPs from about 19 opposition parties are involved in this protest march. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are also present in the march.

However, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and DMK are not involved in this demonstration. Opposition MPs are moving towards the Election Commission office from the Makar Gate of the new Parliament House. During the demonstration, banners of 'Save Democracy' were seen in the hands of MPs, while the protesters raised slogans of 'Gyanesh Kumar resign'.

Jaya Bachchan said- Ganesh ji will protect us

Regarding the protest march of INDIA Bloc MPs to the Election Commission, Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan said, “Ganesh ji does not help in wrongdoings. We start our prayers only by worshiping Ganesh ji; he will protect us.”

Dharmendra Yadav targeted BJP

Samajwadi Party MP Dharmendra Yadav raised questions on BJP and said, “How can BJP talk about the Constitution when they suspend 150 MPs and pass many laws? Who is BJP to give clarification on behalf of the Election Commission of India?”

Imran Pratapgarhi said – protest will continue till Gyanesh Kumar's resignation

Congress leader Imran Pratapgarhi said, “Today the entire INDIA block is going to protest against the Election Commission under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi against the way the Election Commission has taken away the franchise. Rahul Gandhi will lead it. We will not leave until Gyanesh Kumar resigns.”

Supriya Shrinet said the right to vote is most important

Congress leader Supriya Shrinet said, “The right to vote is the most important right in this country. It has been given to the people of the country by the Constitution of the country. If that right is snatched away then the opposition will not become a silent spectator…”
