Greaves Electric Mobility has launched its updated electric scooter Ampere Nexus EX+ in the Indian market. The starting ex-showroom price of this family e-scooter has been kept at ₹ 1.30 lakh. The new version includes a more powerful 5kW motor, IP65-rated water-resistant charger and smart connected features.

More power and better performance: What changed?

The company has introduced Ampere Nexus EX+ in two variants. Its standard model is priced at ₹ 1.30 lakh, while the high-spec model with Intellipack connected technology has been priced at ₹ 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom).

Talking about performance, it has a new 5kW electric motor, which generates peak torque of 202 Nm at the wheels. Ampere claims that this scooter achieves the speed of 0 to 40 kmph in just 4.5 seconds. Due to more torque, the climbing ability of the scooter has become much better on overbridges, sloping roads and even when there is a passenger or heavy luggage behind. Along with this, IP65-rated water resistant charger has been provided for protection from rain and dust.

Battery, range and who is in competition?

The scooter is powered by a 3kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery, which claims an IDC range of 136 km on a full charge. The company is offering a warranty of 5 years or 75,000 km on the battery, while the warranty on the body of the scooter is 3 years or 30,000 km.

Its Intellipack variant offers more than 30 features through the Ampere Connect app, including turn-by-turn navigation, geo-fencing, call alerts, live location and real-time charging status. In the mid-to-high segment, it will compete directly with electric scooters like TVS iQube 3.1kWh, Ather Konarc, Vida VX2 and Chetak C3001.
