By Oct. 5, the post displayed about 33,900 likes, more than six times the target.
One viewer said they had liked the video and joked that the workers should remember to thank them when they went on the cruise. Others asked for photos and updates from the trip. Royal Caribbean’s social media accounts also joined the fun, engaging with the post.
The entire team of about 30 employees will take the cruise in November, said co-founder and chief operating officer Amos Chew. The group includes local and foreign plumbers, electricians and air-conditioning technicians.
The company grew out of handyman work that Chew’s brother Zames began doing at 16, taking on small jobs such as assembling furniture with his brother. The two now run Repair.sg together, The Business Times reported.
The video idea came up while the company was moving offices, when an employee showed Chew a similar clip. He jokingly suggested trying it during a break, and filming took less than 30 minutes, he said.
Previous team outings included a trip to Genting Highlands a few years ago and a visit to Universal Studios Singapore in 2025.
“What better way to bond as a team than being stuck on a ship in the middle of the ocean?” Chew said. “Getting the chance to go on a cruise with the entire team is a dream come true,” wrote Instagram user abdur42, one of the workers.
The commenter also thanked their boss and everyone who had supported the video.
